Lesson One: RTFM

And it was looking so vile, too. Sigh.
Disaster has struck! My beautiful train-wreck, the eye-bleed scarf that I was working on for my mum, has been ruined! No, not by my toddler, but by my own laziness. I thought I'd mastered the art of making crochet pieces that didn't turn into triangles, but alas, I have not. You know what I discovered when I finally bothered to hit up Dr. Google and see what the ailment was? I wasn't adding the turning chain. That's a seriously basic thing to miss out on. Crochet 101 type of simple; something that I probably wouldn't have missed if I'd bothered to actually, oh, I don't know, follow the pattern instead of just winging it. Hours of crocheting...wasted...

Well, I have now...
It seems that my aversion to reading instructions has followed me into Azeroth as well. Now that I have so much free time on my hands, I have decided that I'd start working on the Loremaster achievement for my druid. As you can probably guess, I'm the type of gal that just clicks "Accept" and opens the map to see where I need to go Moonfire spam next. I've only managed to do two zones so far (I'm limiting myself to a zone a day so I don't go all obsessive-crazy and never log out!), but in both of them I've come unstuck at least once because I didn't bother to read the quest text. In the Badlands I even had to do puzzles. Puzzles! I don't play World of Warcraft to think! Using my brain is clearly not my strong suite lately.

Never fear though. These are only minor setbacks to my goals both in-game, and in real life. I have decided to start on a new crochet project, the Team Spirit Hat for my father. Next time I log into WoW I'll be firing up the kettle and making a nice, strong coffee for when I'm ready to start the Blasted Lands. Most importantly though, I'm now well aware just how important it is to read the freakin' manual!

You can thank me later.

Idle Hands

The eye-bleed scarf is a work in progress

Two days have passed since I cut back on World of Warcraft and this is what I have to show for it so far. It's disgusting how much satisfaction I get from making truly vile creations! I can't wait to inflict this abomination of a scarf on my mum. I've still got a long, long, LONG way to go before I'm finished though! It's getting too big to hold comfortably and I'm pretty sure I'm making it the wrong way, but meh. I'll love it regardless!

Thank goodness that all the milling and prospecting I used to do when I was trying to reach for gold cap has improved my patience...
